
Grant joined Lifeways in 2025 as a permit-holding archaeologist and head of our GIS Department. Grant has five years of experience working on archaeological projects across Alberta, British Columbia, and the Northwest Territories. His work includes conducting Historical Resources Impact Assessments and Mitigations on both prehistoric and historic sites.
Grant’s archaeological career began at the Cluny Field School through the University of Calgary in southern Alberta, where he developed foundational skills in excavation and survey techniques. He later earned a Master of Arts in Anthropology from Trent University, specializing in Maya archaeology. His graduate research focused on osteological and stable isotope analysis of human remains, offering valuable insights into Postclassic Maya diet and lifestyle.
Most recently, Grant completed the academic portion of the Bachelor of Applied Geographic Information Systems program at SAIT, further enhancing his technical expertise in mapping and spatial analysis to complement his archaeological work.
